Daya Counselling Centre is guided by the following values. Our decisions and actions reflect these values. We believe that by putting our values into practice we create long-term benefits to our clients and the community we serve. We believe in CLIENT SUCCESS … We focus on individual client needs and strengths, believing in the potential for change and growth. We believe individuals strive to do the best they can. We approach our work with COMPASSION… We engage clients with a sense of caring, empathy, and non judgment. We believe that by being present to our clients in this way we can provide a safe and comfortable place in which to be heard. This contributes to positive outcomes for the people we serve. We honour the SPIRITUAL… Spirituality is the connection (a sense of belonging or meaningfulness) a person has to something that is beyond themselves. It may be a connection to nature, to nature, to one's family/friends, to one's faith/faith community, and/or to something entirely different. We believe that a person’s sense of connection (belongingness or meaningfulness) is a resource for people as they are making sense of their life and their struggles. It can also be a part of healing, growth, and recovery. We are ACCESSIBLE… We believe in the principles of equity and access and strive to create an organization that is free of barriers to service based on income, culture, and language.
